September Light

The light changes in September. Everything glows golden. The garden is still producing—late tomatoes, hardy greens, the last of the zucchini that grew while my back was turned.

This is when I gather seeds for next year. Each seed holds the promise of a whole new plant, a whole new season. It's a kind of magic that never grows old.
